CVS, PA attorney general settle expired goods case

The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office announced on January 20 that CVS Health stores in the state have agreed to a $450,000 settlement over the handling of expired products. The settlement stems from allegations that the stores violated a 2010 agreement that called on CVS Health to implement a system to make sure expired products, including OTC medications and infant formula, were not sold. During a recent compliance check, expired products were found at five of six stores visited. The settlement calls on CVS to give customers a $3.50 coupon if they find an expired product.
