Researchers in Denmark investigated serious harms tied to five drugs routinely prescribed to treat depression. The systematic review and meta-analysis sought patterns in mortality; suicidality, including attempts and ideation; aggression; and an intense form of restlessness known as akathisia. Clinical study reports from 70 trials involving more than 18,500 patients taking duloxetine, fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, or venlafaxine were included in the investigation.
