Eight pieces of legislation have been introduced in the S.C. House of Representatives to tackle the issue of education reform. House Speaker Jay Lucas said the legislation comes in conjunction with the findings and recommendations from the House Education Policy Review and Reform Task Force for reform of the state’s education system. The S.C. Supreme Court has previously said lawmakers need to create a “constitutionally compliant education system.”
