The Laura and John Arnold Foundation will provide funding for four organizations to conduct research and pilot projects aimed at making prescription drugs more affordable in the United States. The Houston-based philanthropist couple has joined a growing movement against soaring drug prices in the country, and its latest funding round of $7.2 million will support efforts to expand payment arrangements in which drug companies are paid based on how well a treatment works, rather than the volume sold.
