An FDA Consumer Update provides guidance for individuals who travel to the United States with medications. FDA’s Lindsay Wagner, PharmD, offers some tips for commonly asked questions. Individuals who travel to the United States with medications come under the jurisdiction of several agencies, including FDA and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. When traveling with medication, Wagner says it is important to have a valid prescription or doctor’s note, written in English, and the medication should be in its original container with the doctor’s instructions on the label.
