CVS Health is removing itself from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which has been actively challenging antismoking efforts in developing nations and worldwide. CVS believes the chamber’s lobbying activities against smoking in public places, advertising restrictions, graphic warning labels, prohibitions on menthol cigarettes, and other controls are in direct conflict with CVS’ mission of helping people “on their path to better health,” said senior executive David Palombi.
