FDA is warning compounding pharmacies about a voluntary recall of certain lots of suspending agents used in compounding various oral liquid drug products. The affected suspending agents, SyrSpend SF and SyrSpend SF Grape, are being recalled due to the presence of yeast (Candida galli). FDA recommends that compounders immediately discontinue use of the affected agents, quarantine the products, and return them to Fagron Inc.
